As many of you know i have been in the process of redoing my bedroom. A little bit at a time so it may be a while before i am finished.

Bought some Linen fabric from Hobby Lobby and a couple squares of off white felt.

Hand drew the images, sewed them on, finished the egdes.

Fabric $7.00
Felt $2.00
Thread$1.29

Cost of Serena and Lily Pilow $112.00
Cost of my pillow $10.29!!!!

My Bedding at College

This is where it all began, my love for fine bedding. I have always drooled over the Pottery Barn catalog and i finally broke down and ordered my sheets, quilt, and shams from there. Then i made my journey over to Calico Corners to see Ms. Judy Tumberbrink. (she is my fabric guru i always go to when i shop there) Here is what i made. All the pillows in red and its variants are my work. The rest is due credit to the all wonderful Pottery Barn!!

dont you just adore monogrammed sheets?? I know i do!!

The Makings of a Portfolio

Cool thing happened last night. Ran into a sweet lady in the thread isle at Joann's yesterday and she has an applique company and her business has really taken off and is looking for people to help her with the work. Of COURSE i was interested.

Hopefully i will be able to help her. After we talked i started looking around my house at all the diy projects i have completed over the years and thought i should pick up and begin blogging about them.

Stay tuned over the next few days as i showcase previous projects. Fell free to ask for tutorials. I will be glad to begin those...

Countdown till friday when we are having our internet connected at home!!!! cant wait.

Why i Love sewing...

I love the thought of creating. Making something that reflects me as a person and my design vision. I love vintage, i love cutting edge, and i love antique lace and buttons.
plus i love the ability to own something cute that didnt cost alot... This week has been spent brainstorming what new things i want to make for the spring, and cutting out fabric for some potatoe sack dresses for my little girl. Cant wait to show yall the end result.
