Touches of Black and White.Client.

Now that Christin is a Mrs. I wanted to share the items she had me create for her big day!!

I am sure y'all remember the rosette's being added to her dress.

Get ready!!! She looked stunning in this gown!!!

The rosette's really did seem to tie everything together and make the rosette's at the shoulder of her gown stand out!!

Christin also wanted to incorporate a black and white damask theme throughout her big day.

She asked me to make the tablecloth for her cake table!!

This was something I had ever tackled before but had a blast challenging myself!

She also asked me to make sashes to tie around the bottom of the bistro tables for her reception.

Sorry for the sideways foto. Iphone doesn't have a rotate pic feature that i know of!!

Christin, thanks so much for letting me be apart of your big day!!

Had a blast creating these items for you and I wish you and the hubs many years together!!!!

.Moss Quatrefoil Wreath.Tutorial

My sister is a Phi Mu and before their recent recruitment she asked if I could make a wreath for their front door.

I have seen several versions of a quatrefoil wreath and wanted to add my "spin" on one.

Step 1.   purchase 2 styrofoam wreath's, 2 packages of sheet moss.
My wreath is a pretty big size so I used 2 12" wreaths.
Step 2. Gather a sharp knife, utility or i just used a dull kitchen knife, a hot glue gun, and some straight pins.

Step 3. Cut each of the two wreath's in half.
Step 4.Lay out the 4 halves into the quatrefoil shape.

Step 5. Use your knife to cut small 9 degree angles into the corners; this is where i used straight pins to               help the wreath maintain its shape while you cut.

Step 6. Cut a 4" wide strip and stretch into one of the four corners. Begin using the gluegun and gluing in small strips and use the straightpins to keep the moss firmly in the corners.

Step 7. Complete all four corners; then work your way into the middle of the wreath.
Step 8. Add ribbon and hang on your favorite front door.

Unfortunately I never made my way over to the sorority house to take a pic of the door so I will upload a pic from my phone in a seperate post.

Living is like tearing through a museum.
Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw,
 thinking about it,
looking it up in a book,
and remembering
because you can't take it in all at once

{audrey hepburn}

some days i truely feel as if i am running through a museum and not until my head hits my pillow do i stop and think about what i have done throughout my day.

Well tomorrow my husband and i will take a brief reprie from the "sprint-o-life" and escape to the theater.

he has never seen WICKED and I have been dying for him to know what all the songs {i make him listen to} are about.

To say I am excited to see it again is an understatement, I must say I might be a slight critic, Gresham, Menzel, and Chenoweth... let's hope this cast can "hit those high notes" otherwise you may hear about this loon-bucket jumping out of her seat and trying to hit those notes herself.
{dont laugh I am often quieted during movies and shows by friends and family alike, haha}

Okay enough with the Wicked pics, can't wait to share how amazing it was!!

Adding "You" to a wedding dress .client.

Recently I reconnected with a friend of mine from high school, Ashley. After a very long afternoon of stories and laughs we decided this go around we would stay in touch.

A few weeks after we got together she texted me asking if I would be interested in some work for a dear friend of her's.

Well sure.... I always love new projects...

Meet Christin, she is just about the cutest thing ever... and did I mention I love her sense of humor??
She is great....

After talking to Christin she was wanting me to make the table cloth for her Wedding cake and make some sashes for her bistro tables for the reception...

I had a blase making these things for her and can't wait to see pictures of the reception!! I do have some pics i took with the iphone but i know good and well, JMalahy Photography will get some great shots in a few weeks and I will post what he shoots later..

Now, on to that wedding dress....

Christin and I spoke after we finished the table cloth and she showed me the "inspiration" picture of her wedding dress.

She found a divine dress but it didn't happen to have the flowers on the hip like she was wanting.

That's where I had to put my head to the grinding stone and figure out how to make some rosettes.

Last weekend mom and I went to Nashville to see some of her dear friends and they graciously showed me how to make them.

Here is what we came up with...
now... just on the off chance her prince charming makes his way over to my blog... I am not posting the whole dress. We will have to wait and see Christin in it on the BIG DAY.

Had so much fun learning new techniques and figuring out how to create these beutiful rosettes.

Did I mention Christin and JR are famous??
